This fact has earned the town the nickname "Rich Man's Hill." Along with Oakville, Ontario it ranks as one of the wealthiest suburbs in Ontario.

States. Many of these wealthy immigrants chose to settle in Richmond Hill and now people of Chinese ancestry make up of about one-fifth of Richmond Hill's population.
